How To Play Vindictus Using ProxyCap

This blog is basically a tutorial on how to play Vindictus using ProxyCap. First of all why do we need ProxyCap? Cause Vindictus is a game under region block, meaning IP Addresses from other countries will not be able to log into the game. This is when ProxyCap will come into use. ProxyCap is an application that camouflage your IP Address into another IP you would like to use. By using this ProxyCap, you will be able to "change" your IP into an IP that is allowed to access Vindictus Game Login.

So before we begin, you will need to do the following.

1. First of all you will need to download the Setup for Vindictus. You will need to go to vindictus.nexon.net/ . You should not download the patcher to download the setup as it won't work MOST OF THE TIME (you can try if you want). You should try the direct download instead. After that, you will need to patch it. I suggest you to patch as soon as you can as the patch files are large and i mean LARGE. It will take an hour or two atleast. While you're downloading the setup, you can go on to the next step.



2. Check if your Computer's windows is 32-bit or 64-bit. Why do we need to know if it's 32-bit or 64-bit? It's because as far as I know, ProxyCap setup does not support both. If you're 32, you'll need to install the newer version whereas if you're 64, the old one is fine (tutorial will be shown later on). To check your "bit", click on Start button (lower left of your screen), go to Control Panel, then System and Security, then System.
   


3. After you check your IP, this is where you will need to download your ProxyCap.
   If you're using 32-bit, download ProxyCap here.

   After downloading, open up the ZIP file and open the doa-0397.zip file, then open up the setup pcap405_x64.zip and install.
   


4. After you install, it will request for a reboot. Restart your computer, then you will see an icon (somewhat like a cell-division icon) in your lower right toolbar. Make sure it is in grey color (meaning Disabled). Right-click it, and click on "About ProxyCap..". A textbox will appear then, click on "Enter Key...". The following textbox will be where you "register" your ProxyCap as a Paid User. Go back to the ProxyCap ZIP file you downloaded previously, open up the doa-0397.zip file and open the key.txt file. Key in the info CORRECTLY into the textbox and click Register. Your ProxyCap's verification is as good as done. Next up, setting up a Proxy to camouflage your IP.



5. This is the most complicated and also troublesome part. There are websites that provide IP address. The twos that I'm using currently is:

   To begin with, you will need to open either one. Then, right-click on your ProxyCap icon (again, the cell-division-lookalike ion) and click on "Preferences.." For the 64-bit and 32-bit ProxyCap, the way of inserting your IP is different so I will do it seperately.

   -After you opened up the Preferences, this is what you will see.
   
   This is when you need to open any one of the websites that provide IP ports.
   
   In order to access the Game Login, we will need IP Addresses from United States (atleast that's what I'm using and its 99% working). So for example, we will be taking the first one shown about, which is
   IP: 68.38.198.119
   Port: 4983
   We will then insert these into our Preference in ProxyCap. First, we will have to open the setting, which is :
   
   After that, a textbox will pop out and you'll just have to fill in the information you obtained from the other website. After filling and clicking OK, it will look like this.
   
   On the left, it is when you key in the info. After you click on OK, you will see the what's on the right.
   After that, click on the "Rules" under the "Ruleset" section at the left column.
   Use the same create icon in the above picture, and open up the rule creation textbox.
   
   All you have to do is to create two rulesets, for two files named NMService.exe and Vindictus.exe . To create the ruleset, click on the "Specify" icon under the APPLICATION section and click on the "..." button at the middle of the textbox. Then you will have to search for the two files I mentioned above.
   These files are located at Computer>Local:C>Nexon>Vindictus>en-US>Vindictus.exe. After that, click on OK.
   Repeat the same thing for the NMService.exe.
   In the end, you will be able to see something like this.
   
   


6. At this stage you are pretty much done.
   Now to play the game, first you will need to go to Vindictus website to login (REMINDER: Do not attempt to use the Launcher application, it's 100% not working).
   


7. After logging in make sure your ProxyCap icon is in GREY color (Disabled).
   Now you can choos which server you want to play in (West or East).
   The Hackshield wil then load up and will then go into the game.
   


8. When the Game is finally loading (where you see a glowing loading bar at the bottom) then only you enable your ProxyCap icon.
   It will then turn Purple, meaning it is Enabled.
   When you are at the login page where there's a ship, click on START GAME.
   


9. After logging in, you will then go into the character selection page.
   Disable your ProxyCap (turn it grey) and you can now select your character and off you go!
   
   NOTICE:
   If you come across something like "Delayed Server Response" when you're trying to Start Game, do not worry. Retry few more times clicking the Start Game. If it still won't work, change your IP and try again (US ONLY).
   If it says something like "Logging in using website", it is most probably because you did not enable your ProxyCap. Don't worry, just ALT-Tab out and enable it and try Start Game again.
   Some case I'd came across saying that ProxyCap couldn't work (ProxyCap Copy not Genuine). Unfortunately I still could not figure out what is the problem. I'm still working on it so please be patient or play using other method *I would recommend using AOL for the worst case*.
